Martin, an engineer currently working in Oslo, about his modular bookshelf
“The Cubit connector system connects me to my home, so to speak.”
He’s certainly seen a lot in his time. Martin is an engineer for an international corporate group and implements projects all over the world. But that’s not all. When he finds a new home for himself and his family, the first thing they all do is assemble their shelf combinations from Cubit . It’s in these solutions that they store their most personal, prized and precious items – collected during their long travels across the continents.
Cubit bookshelves adapt to new spaces in a modular fashion
An element system such as this is really quite adaptable when it comes to ambience too. Since Martin is always living in and with other cultures, he uses different designs every time. The family sure has done its fair share of moving. To start with, they bought an elongated bungalow, before relocating to an art nouveau-style industrialist's villa with extremely high ceilings. “The system from Cubit really does integrate well and makes a great book shelf,” remembers Anja, Martin’s wife. Coming back to the present day and Oslo, Anja is looking around with an air of satisfaction. The clear-cut design of the shelf combination once again gave her complete creative freedom. Inspired by the Far North, she and her kids made an iceberg out of the white elements. Cubit also shipped across a couple of urgently-needed ice blue modules for large books from its site in Germany. And there’s the finished book shelf. It’s a bizarre beauty, eh?
The easy-connect system doesn’t just delight engineers
“It goes without saying that I was very taken by the clever connector system. All you have to do is insert the board into the circumferential groove and holds the stacked modules firmly and neatly in place. “It’s absolutely terrific,” affirms the functional specialist. “But the shelving system is absolutely priceless when we’re moving home for the umpteenth time. The books simply stay in their modules, are transported and are set up in exactly the same way at our new home. As a matter of fact, I’m already looking forward to my next project – in Shanghai!”
